Paul Burgess (Burgy)
Paul is running the London leg of the challenge with me and has a tendency to push himself too far when running which has result in him almost losing both of his nipples…OUCH!!!
Article Date: 08/12/2007
Paul was my boss when I worked for Unilever, we hit it off straight away and I am now his son’s godfather, which is cool.
Paul is the bad influence in the group, if he has a choice of a JD & coke or a 5 mile run…the jd wins every time...and that includes on a Sunday Morning!!!

The things I let Ian talk me into ...
Believe it or not, this adventure started at the end of a lads days drinking whereby under a heavy weight of alcohol and male bravado I'd came out with comments along the lines of " .. a marathon .. we'd easily be able to do that .. given how fit we are .." etc..
Anyways, after initially adopting the george best approach to training (minus the glamorous women ! ;-) I realised I'd have to up my game .. given this I have been training around 3 months and have got up to a max running 2 hrs 20 mins (approx 16 miles).
As stated, its for good causes which everyone can relate to. Our aim as a team is to raise £20k between us and in the spirit of this I have fore-gone any xmas presents from people but collected the money and am putting into the fund - which also saved me getting a mountain of socks and boxer shorts

Paul is the ugly one on the right

Ian is the "6 foot" shrek-alikey .. although as he now follows a rigid 'moisturing campaign' he probably looks less wrinkly these days

I can't believe burge is doing this, he was always the fat, unfit, old, crap one when we played footy. I also laughed for a long time when I heard Paul's nipple story, he is very competitive! I wish everyone the best of luck!
